Under the direction of the Executive Director of School-Age Childcare and in accordance with the mission, policies, and principles of the YMCA of Central New Mexico, the School Age Program Coordinator provides operational leadership and management for an assigned portfolio of school-age childcare programs, including Before & After School Programs, School Break Programs, Day Camps, Teen Programs, and future school-age initiatives as assigned.
The Program Coordinator directly supervises Site Coordinators and is accountable for consistent program quality, licensing and regulatory compliance, staffing, enrollment, fiscal performance, risk management, family experience, and operational execution across assigned locations. Site Coordinators are responsible for the day-to-day operation of their individual sites; the Program Coordinator provides direction, coaching, resources, oversight, and accountability to ensure those sites meet YMCA and organizational expectations.
This position translates Association and department strategy into effective site-level operations, develops strong frontline leaders, strengthens systems and consistency across programs, and identifies opportunities to improve quality, enrollment, and sustainable program growth.

DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:
The School Age Program Coordinator exercises independent judgment in managing the day-to-day performance of an assigned program portfolio within established YMCA policies, approved budgets, licensing requirements, and department standards. The Coordinator is authorized to direct Site Coordinators, address routine staffing and operational issues, adjust site-level practices, and take corrective action necessary to maintain safe and effective operations. Decisions involving significant financial impact, employment actions, major compliance concerns, substantial risk, new contracts, or changes to organizational strategy are made in consultation with or escalated to the Executive Director of School-Age Childcare.
